The Savannah Cement investment, which stands at an estimated value of KES 10 billion, is indigenously owned by Kenyan investors. The company comprises local investors, who have an in-depth understanding of the East African cement market, committed to running East Africa's eco-friendliest and efficient cement-manufacturing complex to world-class standards.
Savannah Cement operates an eco-friendly cement grinding plant with a capacity of 2.4 million tons a year. The plant is strategically placed near Nairobi, which accounts for 50% of Kenya's cement consumption.
Savannah Cement is not only designed to make the best use of green technology, but is also focused on revolutionising environmental management in the regional Cement Industry.
Savannah Cement operates its plant in line with the requirements of the Kenyan National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). It has also adopted a policy of open communication on environmental performance and aims to operate as a good neighbour bby actively participating in the society and contributiong to its well-being through a solid Corporate Social Investment programme that places emphasis on the environment, education, health and sports.

Our Plant
Savannah's modern plant is revolutionizing the way cement is manufactured. A combination of roller press and V-separator before the mill technology makes our plant the most energy-efficient in East Africa.
A 1200 tonnes-per-day pozollana drier is in place to ensure moisture-free mill feed. The entire site is also fully automated and is run from a central control room, which enables the balance between production efficiency and quality to be consitently met. The packing plant is equipped with three modern eight-spout rotor packers with a combined loading capacity of more than six thousand tons per day. For loading bulk cement on to road tankers, a bulk loading facility is installed.
